Swim Team Has Strong Finish at Conference Championship

Congratulations to the boys and girls swim team as they both had very strong finishes at the Conference Championships held last week at the Smithfield Aquatic Center on the SSS campus. Below you will find a complete list of results

Former Trojan Makes Big Splash

Tucker Dupree ('07), is in Rio, Brazil for a world swimming competition. Dupree will be bringing back home a gold metal, world record in the 100 fly, a silver metal in the 50 free and
a bronze in the 400 free.



He is still competing and will be coming home one week from today. He has two more races this week 100 back on Friday and 100 free on Saturday. Dupree competed in last years Paralympics in Beijing, China.

Swim Team Starts Strong

Both the Men's and Women's Swim Team began the season strong last week in a four team meet in the new aquatic center at Smithfield-Selma High School.

Both teams finished first in their respective meets and will be back in action following the Thanksgiving break.

Congratulations to the Swim Team for a great start!

Winter Sports Practice Starts Monday

Winter Sports will officially kick off on Monday afternoon with the start of practice at GMHS. Anyone interested in participating in practice must have a physical on file with Coach G.

Boys finish 2nd in GNRC Swimming Championship

Brennan Kroll, Douglas McCormac, Chris Sutton and Jimmy Augenbach finished third in the 200 freestyle relay to help the Trojans knock Knightdale from the second spot in the overall team competition. The same foursome finished fourth in the 400 free relay to lead Garner to their 295 total, just two point ahead of third place Knightdale. The Lady Trojans finish 5th in the team competition:

Swim results from Jan. 6th meet

Brennan Kroll takes the 50-meter freestyle and Chris Sutton places 2nd in the 100-meter freestyle to pace the Trojans to a 2nd place finish in Jan. 6th quad-meet at Campbell Univ. Pool. Max Kuhns finishes 3rd in the 200-meter IM & 100-meter breaststroke, Douglas McCormac 3rd in the 100-meter butterfly & 100-meter backstroke, and James Augenbaugh takes 3rd in the 500-meter freestyle. Kroll anchors the 3rd place 200-meter medley relay of Dalton Cox, Kuhns, & Jake Register.

The girls bring home 3rd in the meet. The 200-meter medley relay team of Mary Burkey, Melinda Squires, Ali Ward & Gabi Dugal, place 3rd. The Trojans are next in action Jan. 23rd in the GNRC Swimming and Diving Championships at Triangle Aquatics Center:

Boys take first in swimming

The Trojan mens swim team edge out the Knights on the strength of a 400-meter freestyle relay on the last event to finish first in the meet held at Riverwood. The relay team of Douglas McCormac, Zack Wilson, Jimmy Augenbaugh & Brennan Kroll finish at 4:08 to give the Trojans their second team win of the season. The Lady Trojans are edged out by E.Wake in the team competition:

The boys team takes first in quad-meet at Campbell Pool. Brennan Kroll wins the 100-meter fly and Jake Register places 2nd in the 200-meter IM.
