The Garner Citizen Covers Trojan Football

The Garner Citizen News and Times was on hand for the first day of Trojan Football practice last Saturday morning and has put together an audio slide show which also has audio of the Trojan Sports Network's interview with Coach Smith.

Trojan Football Officially 'Kicks-Off'

The Football season is officially under way for the Trojans as football practice began Saturday morning with over 100 students trying out for Football in 2009.

The Trojan Sports Network was on hand for the first day of practice and previewed the upcoming Football season as well as the other fall sports and you can listen to the broadcast HERE.


All other fall sports will begin practice next week.

English around the world

Here's a quick link to an American article offering advice to American English speakers about how to avoid communication difficulties with other English speakers. It covers some of the main areas we'll look at in our A2 course when we look at Language Variation and how English is used around the world, specifically that the English used by non-native speakers is often a very different beast from what we use in the UK and USA. Here's an example:

Common colloquial American phrases will not mean much to a person who does not live in the United States. Telling a colleague that he or she should "go for it" will not take anyone anywhere and saying someone is "out of the loop" will likely put you there.
